We help clients navigate complex material decisions with clarity, independence and technical expertise. From early-stage design advice and material specification to global sourcing, quality assurance and project leadership, our role is to protect the integrity of the project and the interests of the client.

Mat Snelling — independent by design.
Studio Pietra was founded by Mat Snelling, a stone and architectural materials specialist with more than 26 years of international experience.
His work has contributed to projects including the Dorchester Hotel, Chiltern Firehouse, Windsor Castle, Apple retail stores, Casa Batlló and the Sir John Soane's Museum, as well as luxury private residences throughout the United Kingdom, Europe, North America and the Caribbean.
Known for his expertise in complex staircases, bespoke interiors and natural stone specification, Mat brings together technical knowledge, global supplier relationships and practical project experience to help clients make informed decisions and deliver exceptional results.
